The Oxnard College Library Instruction program aims to build information competency in students and uses the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education as a guide for all library instruction activities. The program supports Institutional Student Learning Outcome 6 - Information Retrieval and Technological Competency: Student demonstrates the ability to find, organize, understand, critically examine and use information from various sources using a variety of technologies.
Librarians are available to provide instruction in-person in the Library, in your classroom, or online via Zoom. Library instruction sessions can range from a brief orientation or library tour about the library's resources to a longer session that is tailored to meet the needs of your assignment/course. More than one session can be scheduled in order to provide instruction that aligns with the research goals of your various assignments. Please contact our librarian, Robbie Hoile, to set up a research instruction session for your class.
If your class is asynchronous, we can work with you to find an option that works best for your students - this could be drop-in hours or a scheduled live Zoom session at a set day/time that works for your students.
We are happy to work with you to create a session that supports your class, students, and assignments!
