Library Accessibility Guide: Library Services

Library Services for Users with Disabilities

The Oxnard College Library is committed to providing services to students with disabilities. Accommodations may vary based upon the type of disability involved.

Research Assistance

  • Librarians are on duty at the Reference Desk during all library hours and will provide research assistance to locate and demonstrate the use of library resources to students with disabilities.

Library Instruction and Orientations

  •  Reasonable accommodations will be provided for students with disabilities who attend these instructional sessions. Please request accommodations in advance through the EAC or Library.

Testing Center

  • We work collaboratively with the EAC to provide assistance for students who require special accommodations for the testing center.

Tutoring Center

  • We work collaboratively with the EAC to provide assistance for students who require special accommodations for the tutoring center.

Photocopiers

  • If students with disabilities require assistance, they can request help from library staff at the Circulation Desk or Reference Desk.

Retrieving Materials

  • If needed, library staff will retrieve materials for students with disabilities from the bookshelves. If library staff cannot provide immediate assistance, students can leave their requests at the Circulation Desk or Reference Desk and return later to retrieve materials.

Educational Assistance Center (EAC)

Students with disabilities are encouraged to enroll in the Educational Assistance Center to obtain information regarding special accommodations and services.
